Pawpaw season is almost here!
For the 2026 harvest, Hang Loose Pawpaw Patch will be offering locally and organically grown, spray-free pawpaws straight from our orchard in the Lexington, Kentucky area.

This year’s harvest includes fruit from 14 premium pawpaw cultivars, including:
Sunflower Shenandoah Susquehanna Potomac Wabash Pennsylvania Golden Davis Rappahannock IXL Prolific NC-1 KSU-Atwood Mango Plus additional fruit from our premium plantings as available
These aren’t your average wild pawpaws. Many of these cultivars were selected and developed over decades for qualities like exceptional flavor, larger fruit, creamy texture, and a higher flesh-to-seed ratio. We’re excited to share some of the best pawpaws we grow with the Lexington community!
HOW THE 2026 SALE WILL WORK
Our harvest typically begins in late August and continues through late September or early October, depending on Mother Nature.
Because pawpaws ripen on their own schedule, we operate using a waiting list. Once the harvest begins and we have a better idea of how much fruit is available, we’ll begin contacting customers in order.
When your name comes up, we’ll reach out to confirm how many pounds you’d like to purchase at $10 per pound and arrange payment and pickup. Fruit is limited, so priority will be given to customers who respond, pay, and confirm their pickup promptly.

Please note that pawpaws are extremely perishable. Because fruit is reserved specifically for each customer, payments are non-refundable if you miss your scheduled pickup.
A NOTE ABOUT VARIETIES
We are unable to create custom variety assortments or guarantee individual cultivars.
Your order will contain a selection of our premium pawpaws that are perfectly ripe and available when your turn on the waiting list arrives. Pawpaws don’t all ripen at the same time, so we let the orchard determine what’s ready!
